Part 6 — Petrified Forest National Park

After Winslow, we drove our final leg of the trip, but, not before visiting the Petrified Forest National Park.

Logs like this got uprooted by raging waters and preserved buried in mud. Then, cell by cell, the organic material is replaced by mineral deposits to form petrified wood.

After 12 days, we drove almost 3,000 miles and were glad to be home with a few stickers for the Subaru to mark the journey.
