2016 National Parks – Part 5

Part 5 — “Standin’ on the corner…”

It was getting time to work our way back to DFW, so we planned a stop in Winslow, Arizona at the historic La Posada Hotel.

This history hotel is under a continuous renovation to restore it to its historical grandeur.

The original hotel entrance faced the railroad to welcome its guests.

We stayed in the Harry Truman Room.

After a wonderful night at La Posada, we walked to the Standin’ on the Corner park.

A “flatbed Ford” is actually parked at the “Standin’ on the Corner” park .

A mural was commissioned by the city of Winslow. Note that the reflection on the store window, and the eagle perched in the window are all painted on a flat brick wall.

The statue of a musician has a shoulder which is polished bright by a steady flow of tourists.
